Festive Fears

Exploring the sinister side of Christmas

Festive Fears was a concept for our internal Christmas card project that snowballed into a range of sinister greetings cards.

The team at Zavial wanted to create something a little different to celebrate the festive season.

We discovered that there are people suffering from a whole range of Christmas related phobias, from opening presents to kissing under the mistletoe. Using this as our theme, we created a set of five sinister Christmas cards, to be sent out as a gift pack to all our clients.

We commissioned illustrator Isaac Sutterby to bring our characters to life, the set was then digitally printed in black and white on a selection of Colorplan papers, and hand finished in-house.

They went down a storm and were featured on websites including Design Week and Creative Pool.
